Invite Members
Add board members, assign roles and positions, and manage access to your board.
Once your board is set up, invite the people who need access — board members, investors, executives, and advisors.
Send an Invitation
- Go to Members in the sidebar
- Click Invite Member
- Enter the invitee's email address
- Select one or more board positions (see below)
- Click Send Invitation
The invitee receives an email with a link to join the board. They must sign up or log in with the invited email address.
Invite link
You can also copy the board's invite link and share it directly. Only people on the invite list can use the link — it won't work for anyone else.
Board Positions
Board positions describe a member's real-world role. You can assign multiple positions to one person:
| Position | Typical Use |
|---|---|
| CEO | Company chief executive |
| CFO | Company chief financial officer |
| Board Chair | Meeting chair |
| Board Member | Voting board member |
| Observer | Non-voting attendee (default for new invites) |
| Investor | VC or angel investor |
| External Consultant | Outside advisor |
| Company Secretary | Corporate governance officer |
| Corporate Lawyer | Legal counsel |
| Executive Assistant | Administrative support |
Access Roles
Separately from their board position, each member has an access role that controls what they can do:
| Role | Can Edit | Can Invite | Can Manage Members |
|---|---|---|---|
| Owner | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Admin | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Guest | No (read-only) | No | No |
- The board creator is automatically the Owner
- Ownership can be transferred to another member
- Only Owners and Admins can invite new members
Manage Existing Members
From the Members page you can:
- Edit a member's positions or access role
- Remove a member from the board
- Transfer ownership to another member (Owner only)
- Resend an invitation email for pending invites
- Retract a pending invitation
Invitation throttling
Invitation emails are throttled to one per invitee per hour to prevent accidental spam.
