Share Documents
Understand who can access board documents and how to share them.
Documents in I'mBoard are scoped to the board they belong to. All members of a board can view its published documents.
Who Can See Documents?
- All board members can view and search documents in the board's library
- Documents are not visible to people outside the board
- There is no per-document permission model — board membership grants access
Download Documents
Any board member can download document files:
- Open the document detail page
- Click Download on the version you need
- The file downloads to your device
For external link documents, clicking the link opens the document in a new browser tab (e.g., Google Drive, Dropbox).
Link Documents to Meetings
Documents can be associated with board meetings for easy reference:
- Open the document detail page
- Under Linked Meetings, select the relevant meeting(s)
This helps board members find all materials related to a specific meeting in one place.
Tip
When preparing for a board meeting, check the meeting page to see all linked documents.
Search Across Documents
Use the global search in the Documents section to find any document in the current board. Search matches against:
- Document titles (fuzzy matching)
- Document content (full-text semantic search)
- Document type categories
